Statements like “giving back to the community”, “making a difference thru volunteering”, “helping others thru community” all exemplify our thoughts on how to help others. These thoughts are what “Hometown Heroes” was founded on. The simple thought of helping others less fortunate thru volunteerism and community involvement.

Our first undertaking called “Hometown Heroes” was back in 2002 when we honored local area police, firefighters and emergency responders with a tribute after the 9-11-01 tragedies.  This was our second project and was called “Hometown Heroes Family Edition” in which we help a special family in Grafton that has been stricken with many health issues and needed their home modified to accommodate their family’s growing special needs. Read about their struggles. With the rest of the community, we made this miracle happen for them.

We had many volunteers for this special hometown project. They included people who are skilled carpenters and plumbers, food servers, and just anyone who had time to donate for miscellaneous projects. The house transformation started Oct. 28 and was completed on November 25, 2008 just in time for Thanksgiving! You can see the results throughout the rest of this site.

Like every other volunteer/charity organization we cannot make this work without your support! At this point we are in need of your financial help! Your donations will allow us to continue to fund additional projects in the future. Please revisit our site for further updates and if you can please visit our donate now page to make a tax deductable donation.

Together we are making a difference! Thank you to everyone that has helped us and to those of you who will help us in the future!
